Utah Fall Outdoor Lodge

Utah Fall Outdoor Lodge

Fall is here in Utah. The mornings and evenings are starting to cool down and the leaves are beginning to change color. This is a magical time of year in Utah. Here are some of our favorite things to do in the state of Utah in the fall months for a family vacation or weekend getaway.

One of our favorite fall activities in Utah is taking a drive in the Uinta Mountains. Both the north and south side of the Uinta Mountains have many dirt roads that go up into the national forest into some of the most beautiful mountains in Utah. The Uinta Mountains are the highest mountain range in Utah and the large mountain sides are covered in pines and aspens. The views in these mountains are amazing year-round, but the fall with the yellow aspens and willows, the dark green evergreen trees, and the red oaks is some of the most spectacular scenery you will ever see in your life. There is also a good chance of seeing wildlife during the fall in the Uinta Mountains. Deer and elk are very active in the fall in the mountains of Utah. Along the rivers there is also the chance of seeing moose and lots of birds. The Black’s Fork River Lodge and Silver Springs Lodge are both great locations for groups that want to experience the fall colors and wildlife viewing in the Uinta Mountains.

We also love to canoe, kayak, paddleboard, and fish on lakes in the fall months. The mild weather in the fall is a great time to spend time out on the lake paddling and catching a few fish. The fall fishing is some of the best of the year. Falcon’s Ledge Lodge and Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve are both great lodges for families to enjoy time on the lake fishing and paddling around the lake. Both these gorgeous properties have private lakes on the property that are convenient and quiet for families to enjoy the outdoors in privacy and seclusion.

Hiking in southern Utah is another of our favorite fall activities. The national parks in southern Utah are beautiful anytime of year, but the fall is especially gorgeous. Zion, Bryce Canyon, Arches, and Canyonlands are all spectacular in the fall. There are also great areas around Saint George for hiking in the fall. Snow Canyon State Park and Red Cliff National Recreation Area are two of the best areas to hike near Saint George. No matter where you hike in southern Utah the weather is mild and the scenery is breathtaking in the fall. Utah Family Lodges has several great lodges in southern Utah to accommodate your group. Slick Rock Lodge in Moab, Grand Plateau Lodge in Kanab, and the River Home in Saint George.

We hope to see you and your family this fall in Utah to enjoy the beautiful Utah outdoors!
