Utah Family Holiday Gathering
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and Christmas is not far behind. It is a wonderful time of year to get together with family and close friends and spend time celebrating the holidays, eating good food, and playing outside with loved ones. We love gathering with family over the holiday season and it is one of our favorite times of the year. In this blog we will discuss some of our favorite areas in Utah to gather with our family over the holiday season.
Families that enjoy fishing and hunting will love northeastern Utah. There are endless areas to fish and hunt in northeastern Utah. The south slope of the Uinta Mountains has many small streams and rivers flowing out of the canyons and into the Strawberry and Duchesne Rivers that are amazing areas to explore and fish with family. The south slope of the Uinta Mountains has large herds of deer and elk and families that explore these canyons and spend time fishing and hiking in these spectacular canyons will often be rewarded by seeing lots of deer and elk. The Duchesne River Valley is a beautiful wetland area that has amazing bird hunting. The Falcon’s Ledge Lodge in northeastern Utah is at the base of the south slope of the Uinta Mountains. It is a beautiful lodge on a private 600-acre property with 8 private trout lakes. It is an amazing property for families that love to fish. There is lots of great fishing right on the property and in the national forest above the lodge. The Hidden Springs Lodge is also in the same area and is great for larger families that need a large building for everyone in the family. The Hidden Springs Lodge has lots of great recreation for everyone in the family including pickleball, basketball, rock climbing, fishing, canoeing, skeet shooting, and mountain biking. Six Lakes Fishing Preserve and Resort is just south of these two properties. It is a beautiful fishing preserve with cabins for families to rent. The lakes on the property are great for fishing, canoeing, and kayaking. There is lots of wildlife on the preserve to see and hot tubs to relax at night. Families that enjoy hunting can drive down the road to do some bird hunting in the mornings at Pleasant Valley Hunting Preserve.
Southern Utah is also a great area to spend time with family during the holiday season. Saint George is beautiful this time of year and there is tons of hiking and mountain biking around this area. The Saint George River Home and Cliff Dwellers Retreat are both amazing facilities in the Saint George area. Kanab is also nice during the holiday season and has many national and state parks for families to explore. Grand Plateau Lodge and Juniper Hills Home are beautiful vacation properties for families to gather in Kanab. Moab is beautiful any time of year, but during the holiday season the Moab area is a great place to be hiking and mountain biking with family. Slick Rock Lodge in Moab is a perfect facility for families of any size to gather and enjoy time together in Moab. All these southern Utah lodges have private pools and hot tubs for family fun during the holidays.
