Utah Summer Family Vacation
Summer has arrived and Utah has endless summer recreation in both northern and southern Utah. In this blog we will discuss some of our favorite summer recreation in Utah for your Utah family summer vacation.
Northern Utah has some beautiful mountains and the highest mountain range in Utah is the Uinta Mountains. This spectacular mountain range is huge and has tons of beautiful country and amazing recreation. No matter the outdoor recreation your family enjoys, the Uinta Mountains have any mountain recreation that your family spends their vacation doing. The south slope of the Uinta Mountains has hundreds of miles of ATV/OHV trails, hiking trails, rivers, and beautiful lakes. Your family can ride ATVs, motorcycles, hike, boat, fish, river raft, mountain bike, and kayak. The small town of Altamont is the gateway to the south slope of the Uinta Mountains and has great access to many of the best areas in the Uintas. Falcon’s Ledge Lodge, Six Lakes Resort, and Hidden Springs Lodge are located just outside of Altamont on the south slope of the Uinta Mountains and provide amazing lodging and amenities for families while they vacation in the summer months. All three vacation lodges have a private pool, huge hot tub, fishing ponds, mountain bikes, and beautiful cabins to enjoy time with your family eating and relaxing. On the north slope of the Uinta Mountains the outdoor recreation is similar and just as amazing as the south slope. The Black’s Fork River Lodge is in Mountain View, Wyoming and is at the base of the north slope of the Uinta Mountains. It is great for large family groups who love outdoor recreation.
Southern Utah also has amazing outdoor summer recreation for family summer vacations. Saint George, Utah is one of the most famous areas of Utah. This city is just outside of Zion National Park and Red Cliffs National Recreation Area. These are magnificent red rock canyons and recreation areas that families love to explore and enjoy. There are also some great ATV trails and lakes around Saint George for families that enjoy boating and ATV riding. Kanab, Utah is also a great area of southern Utah and has many national and state parks surrounding this small city. Families that enjoy exploring national and state parks will love this area and will find Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort the perfect accommodations for any size family group. We can not forget Moab, Utah. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are just outside of Moab. The national parks combined with mountain biking trails, the Colorado River, and OHV trails make Moab an outdoor recreation mecca. The Slick Rock Lodge has a 5 bedroom and 10 bedroom lodge, making it perfect for small and large family groups staying in Moab.
