
Southern Utah Family Vacation
Spring in southern Utah is beautiful and the outdoor recreation opportunities are endless. Spring is one of the best times of year to spend time hiking, biking, and riding trails in southern Utah. It is a great time to be playing outdoors in many of the national parks and national recreation areas. In this blog we will share some of our favorite areas in southern Utah to enjoy with your family during the spring months.
Kanab, Utah is a great area on the Utah/Arizona border that is surrounded by national parks and national recreation areas. Spring weather in this area is mild with cool mornings and nights and warm afternoons. It is ideal weather for hiking, mountain biking, and jeeping. There are several amazing areas surrounding Kanab that are great for families to explore this time of year. The Coral Pink Sand Dunes are just north of Kanab and is one of our favorite areas for riding ATVs and jeeps. This large area of sand dunes is fun to enjoy with family and friends. South of Kanab there are amazing slot canyons for families that enjoy hiking. Buckskin Gulch and Paria Canyon are two of the largest slot canyons in the world. They are magnificent slot canyons with towering walls with amazing geological formations. These slot canyons are some of the most amazing canyons in the world and families can explore them while staying in the Kanab area at Grand Plateau Lodge and RV Resort.
Saint George, Utah is an amazing area in the southwest corner of Utah. Families that enjoy warm spring weather and outdoor activity will love spending time in Saint George in the spring. The Saint George River Home has an indoor and outdoor pool, a pickleball court, a sand volleyball court, and large lawn areas. The property is perfect for families to enjoy time outdoors swimming, playing sports, and relaxing in the warm spring weather. The outdoor recreation surrounding Saint George is amazing for families to enjoy while staying in Saint George. Snow Canyon State Park is a great place for families to hike or ride mountain bikes. Zion National Park and Red Cliffs National Recreation Area are also a great place to hike and take pictures with your family.
Moab, Utah is a mecca for outdoor recreation and is beautiful in the spring months. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are amazing for families to hike and explore beautiful areas and take photographs of arches and red rock formations that are unique and world-famous. Many mountain biking and jeep trails wind around Moab and with the sheer number of trails groups can easily find trails that fit their families needs in the Moab area. Slick Rock Lodge is located just south of town and is great for groups wanting to experience all that Moab has to offer. The location is convenient for groups to swing into Moab to grab a bite to eat at the local restaurants or to go on a hike or bike a trail.
