Utah Family Recreation Lodge
Families love to spend time together enjoying the beautiful outdoors during the spring months when the weather is mild and the flowers and trees are blooming. Utah is a very diverse state with mountains and deserts, so it offers a wide variety of outdoor recreation. Northern Utah has beautiful mountains to explore and enjoy and southern Utah has sand dunes and red rock arches. In this blog we will discuss some of our favorite outdoor recreation areas in northern and southern Utah including our family recreation lodges.
Moab has always been an outdoor recreation paradise. There is endless outdoor activities to do in this area including Arches National Park and Canyonlands National Park. The Colorado River also runs past Moab and is a great option on hot days for a refreshing float on the river. Families that enjoy mountain biking and trail rides in their jeep will love this area. The trails are endless and the scenery is spectacular. Slick Rock Lodge is located on the south side of town and is a perfect spot for your family to stay while exploring Moab.
Kanab, Utah is surrounded by outdoor adventures for families. North of Kanab is Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon National Park that both offer spectacular red rock formations and amazing hiking. Families that enjoy exploring slot canyons will find some of the largest and most spectacular slot canyons in the world about an hour south of Kanab. Those families that enjoy ATV and OHV riding will find hundreds of miles of trails through the Grand Staircase National Monument and the Coral Pink Sand Dunes just north of town for some fun riding. The Grand Plateau RV Resort and Lodge just south of Kanab is an amazing spot to use as a basecamp while exploring this spectacular area. Families with RVs can stay in the comfort of their own RV and enjoying the pool, hot tub, and clubhouse at the RV Resort. Families that need a place to stay can rent a camper cabin or home on the resort and have luxury accomodations while they stay and play in Kanab.
Northern Utah has beautiful mountains and the largest mountain range in Utah is the Uinta Mountains. The Uinta Mountains run east and west and the north slope of the Uinta Mountains is near the Utah/Wyoming border. Black’s Fork River Lodge is located in Fort Bridger, Wyoming just below the north slope of the Uinta Mountains. It is a beautiful area with lots of wildlife. Families can vacation in this beautiful area and enjoy time together at the lodge hiking, fishing, swiming, playing games in the yard, and relaxing on the deck watching wildlife. On the south slope of the Uinta Mountains the Hidden Springs Lodge is another beautiful lodge for families to gather and enjoy time together while enjoying the outdoors as a family. Both of these beautiful lodges are only about 2.5 hours from the Salt Lake Valley.
Utah has some amazing outdoor recreation in both northern and southern Utah. We hope to see your family this spring and summer for some outdoor recreation!
