Utah Winter Recreation
The fall colors are now fading in Utah and the cooler weather has moved in. Northern Utah has seen a couple of snowstorms and is preparing for winter skiing and snowmobiling in just over a month. In southern Utah the cooler weather and rainstorms have been a nice break from the summer heat and many people are taking advantage of the cool weather to get out and enjoy some hiking, ATV riding, and mountain biking. We are getting excited for both the amazing skiing and snowmobiling in Utah, as well as the cool weather in southern Utah for hiking and mountain biking. Utah winter recreation is just around the corner.
Heber City, Utah is an amazing location in the winter and provides some world-class winter recreation. Soldier Hollow is home of the 2002 Winter Olympic Cross Country skiing venue and is some of the best cross-country skiing in the world. Deer Valley and Sundance ski resorts are just 20 minutes from Heber City and are some of the best downhill skiing in the United States. The Provo River runs right through the Heber Valley and is a year-round trout fishing river that offers great winter fly-fishing for the avid angler. Silver Springs Lodge in the Heber Valley is perfect for any size group to enjoy the winter recreation Heber, Utah has to offer.
Just over the border in western Wyoming the Black’s Fork River Lodge offers great access to the Uinta Mountains for world-class snowmobiling. The Uinta Mountains are the highest mountain range in Utah and are spectacularly beautiful and get large amounts of snow each winter making them some of the best snowmobiling in the western United States. The Meeks Cabin Trailhead is just up the road from Black’s Fork River Lodge and provides great Utah winter recreation and snowmobiling.
On the south slope of the Uinta Mountains is the Falcon’s Ledge Lodge and Six Lakes. These properties are amazing ice fishing properties and offer great access into the south slope of the Uinta Mountains for snowmobiling and snow shoeing. These properties offer different size cabins for any group size.
