Southern Utah Vacation
Southern Utah is a wonderful area to explore and play outside during the winter months. The weather is mild, the crowds have left, and the winter can be some of the most beautiful scenery of the year. There are endless outdoor recreation areas, state parks, and national parks throughout southern Utah. Most of these amazing areas can be accessed from Saint George, Moab, and Kanab. These southern Utah cities are perfect for gathering groups of family and friends to explore and play in southern Utah.
Saint George is located in the southwest corner of Utah and provides great access to Zion National Park, Snow Canyon State Park, and the Dixie National Forest. It is a great place to vacation in the winter due to the mild weather and the endless winter recreation areas. Hiking and mountain biking trails are everywhere around Saint George and the city of Saint George has great restaurants, golf courses, and indoor waterparks. Utah Family Lodges offers two amazing facilities near Saint George. The Saint George River Home accommodates groups up to 50 people and is perfect for a winter vacation. The city of Kanab is located in southern Utah near the Arizona border and is central to many of the national parks. Zion and Bryce Canyon National Park are just about an hour north of Kanab. The Grand Canyon is just about an hour south of Kanab. The Grand Staircase National Monument and Lake Powell are about an hour east of Kanab. It would take a lifetime to explore all the national and state parks surrounding Kanab. The Grand Plateau Resort has a beautiful lodge that is perfect for groups up to 60 people. Moab, Utah has become one of the most famous red rock destinations in the world. Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are known throughout the world for their red rock arches and canyon formations. The mountain bike trails, and jeep trails are also well known across the United States as some of the best trails in the country. Slick Rock Lodge in Moab is conveniently located just south of town for easy access to the great restaurants and bike shops in town. This beautiful lodge has a 5-bedroom building for groups up to 20 people and a 10-bedroom building for groups up to 50 people. The private pool and hot tub area is great for relaxing after a long day of hiking or mountain biking.
