Utah Winter Family Recreation
Utah has been receiving above average snowfall this winter and has made the skiing and snowmobiling in northern Utah epic the last two months. Southern Utah has been getting some rain and snow storms but has had mild temperatures and winter groups have enjoyed the mild temperatures and have spent a great deal of time hiking, biking, jeeping, and riding OHVs. Utah is a great place for a winter vacation for families that love the snow and families that want mild weather and national parks. In this blog we will discuss some of our favorite Utah winter recreation in northern Utah.
In northern Utah our three favorite winter recreation activities are skiing, snowmobiling, and playing in the snow with the family. We offer several great properties in Utah for families to enjoy winter recreation together. In northeastern Utah on the south slope of the Uinta Mountains the Hidden Springs Lodge is great for larger families that enjoy snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and playing in the snow. The large lodge is amazing for larger families to gather and play in the snow, enjoy the large hot tub, and cross country ski or ride snowmobiles in the beautiful Uinta Mountains just above the lodge. Medium size families love to gather at Falcon’s Ledge Lodge. This lodge is great for families up to 35 people and the large property is amazing for families that enjoy the outdoors. There are eight small lakes on the property for ice fishing and ice skating. There are also trails around this large property for cross country skiing, snowshoeing, and watching wildlife. Families that enjoy the outdoors will also love the Six Lakes Resort and Fishing Preserve. This property is great for small to medium-sized families that want to gather in the winter. Loon Lodge is a great lodge for families under 20 people and the Eagle Cabin can accommodate another 10 to 15 people in the winter. The Six Lakes property has small lakes that are great for ice fishing and ice skating. It also has dirt roads around the property for cross country skiing and hiking in the winter months.
Families that enjoy snowmobiling in the winter will love the Black’s Fork River Lodge just over the border in Wyoming. The Black’s Fork River Lodge is just down the road from the Meek’s Cabin Trailhead into the high Uinta Mountains. This trailhead is amazing for exploring the beautiful Uinta Mountains in the winter. The trailhead is easy to access from the lodge and connects directly to hundreds of miles of snowmobile trails through the Uinta Mountains. This is some of the most beautiful country in Utah and Wyoming. The lodge has a large hot tub for relaxing in the winter and big lawn areas for families to play in the snow and sled on the property.
Utah is a great state for winter recreation. We hope to see your family this winter for a Utah winter family vacation.
